Hi friends, and happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I am so glad that it's May! April was really challenging, and I want to take today's article to unpack one of our most important relationships: our relationship with our bodies. See, I had a pretty bad injury this month that really knocked me on my ass. Not only was my body out of commission, but the way it affected my mind and, therefore, every other aspect of my life really surprised me (and not in a good way).
Taking this unplanned break forced me to reckon with just how much of my worth I tie to my productivity, forward momentum, and what my body can do. Healing this injury was not just physical; it was emotional, it was mindful, and honestly, there was a fair amount of existential thrown in there, too. But throughout it all, I learned some really valuable (and surprisingly universal) lessons. So, if you've ever had your body make you take an unexpected pause, this one is for you.
